This is an exciting week for students; they can hardly wait until our Valentine’s Day celebration! Remember, parents are always welcome! Our celebration will begin at 11am and will end at 12pm. The children will be eating lunch at the party, so there is no need to pack a lunch or snack. If you would like to check your student out to go home directly from the classroom to avoid pick-up lines, there will be a sign-out sheet in the classroom for you to do so.
As you have surely noticed, the phonograms are continuing to become more challenging for the children. We do practice phonograms both orally and written in class daily. Even though they are receiving daily practice at school, each student would greatly benefit from practicing both orally and written at home. Thank you for your diligent work with your children!
**For Spalding this week we will be adding the phonograms:
“ei” as in: e- conceit, a- veil, i- forfeit
and “gu” as in: guess
**For Spelling this week we will be using, ‘List 5.’
Review words: little can we see my
**Our math focus this week will again mostly be on addition and subtraction. We will also be introducing the concept of measurement.
**’EXTENDED DAY’ will be learning about Presidents' Day!
**This month students may choose between two poems: Valentine’s Poem or Abraham Lincoln. Poems will be assessed the week of Feb. 26th.
**Valentine’s Day Party!!!
Our party will begin at 11:00 am.
Please do not send Valentine cards into the classroom until the party day (Feb. 16). Thank you!
